Dr. Boguski joined Inspirata following its acquisition in September 2016 of Precision Medicine Network™, Inc. He sits on the Strategic Advisory Board and is the Senior Vice President of Precision Medicine for the company. PMNI was co-founded by Dr. Boguski in 2011 to develop a knowledge visualization and decision support application providing physicians with current information about disease types, biomarkers and molecular pathways matched with relevant drugs and clinical trials.
Prior to PMNI, Dr. Boguski served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and founded the Genomic Medicine Initiative at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston in 2009. He is recognized as a pioneer in the fields of biomedical informatics and genomics, and has previously held faculty positions at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, National Library of Medicine and as an executive in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He was the Founding Director of the Allen Institute for Brain Science and is a former Vice President of Novartis.
Dr. Boguski is a “visionary” and “influencer” according to the Personalized Medicine Coalition and has been credited by Forbes magazine as the originator of the term “precision medicine.” He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academies, American College of Medical Informatics, Society for Participatory Medicine and is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists. He is a graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Washington University in St. Louis and is an MD and PhD.
