Dr. Heritage is responsible for leading the development of Inspirata’s Cancer Information Data Trust, a revolutionary system designed to improve the diagnosis of cancer and provide physicians, patients, educators, researchers, pharma and others with cancer treatment options, prognostic information and population health insights.
Most recently Dr. Heritage has been focused on the application of genomics and next-generation sequencing in the clinical environment, building and commercializing products including Appistry’s CloudDx and GenomePilot with the specific goal of making genomics more approachable by clinicians and patients.
Dr. Heritage is recognized as a visionary leader in the development of informatics systems enabling drug and performance chemical discovery, translational and personalized medicine and pharmaceutical product development. Dr. Heritage created the “electronic lab environment,” developing and deploying a fully integrated electronic notebook solution at many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that optimized processes, reduced costs and improved compliance across the pharmaceutical research and development value chain.
In 2005, he was awarded the St. Louis Business Journal “40 Under 40” Business Award. He is a leading author on more than 20 peer reviewed scientific publications, the co-inventor and patent holder of a novel technique for chemical structure—property relationship analysis. He has previously served as a reviewer for the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and the Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Science, as well as on the Scientific Advisory Board for IBC Life Sciences and the University of Indiana School of Informatics. He holds a PhD. in Organic Chemistry and graduated with Honors in Chemistry and Computer Science from the University of Reading, England.
